    Great place to stay prior to a cruise. Took an Uber from Anchorage. Some interesting hiking trails close to the hotel. Within walking distance of cruise ship terminal and the Phillips Cruise dock.

    The hotel: This is a very cool hotel with a good view. The front desk staff were super nice and helpful. When we were in Whittier, it was 60 degrees & very sunny, which is irregular. The hotel rooms do not have AC, so our room was 80 degrees when we checked in at 5:30pm. Thankfully, the room did cool off and was very pleasant to sleep in (we opened the window and the staff gave us a small fan). Overall, the room is super basic - No microwave or mini fridge. It has a smart TV, but ours didn’t work (couldn’t login to Netflix, Apple TV, etc. because it Said the apps weren’t downloaded but also wouldn’t let you download the free apps…). The bed was pretty comfy & the room seemed really clean. The hot water is minimal in the evening, assuming everyone was trying to shower at that time. We did get a warm shower early in the morning. The restaurant: The restaurant has a cool view and the food is okay. The service was pretty bad but in their defense, there was only one waitress serving the entire tavern. She was pretty inattentive regardless though. Would I eat there again? Probably not. Maybe good to grab a drink & appetizer.
