About this cottage rental
Situated in the lovely harbour area of Ilfracombe, this charming 19th-century terraced cottage is stylishly presented and retains many original features including exposed wooden beams. Return from exploring the vibrant seaside town and end the evening in style outside in the courtyard.
Approached from a private gated lane, there are nine steps up to the pretty front terrace and entrance door. The spacious, light and bright living/dining room features oak beams and panelled walls and has an attractive brick fireplace housing a coal-effect electric fire, ideal for cosy evenings. Having an elevated position, it benefits from a great view over the harbour side towards Hillsborough and you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast whilst watching the world go by! The modern and well-equipped kitchen is fitted with beech worktops and a small breakfast bar. As may be expected in a property of this age, the family bathroom is on the ground floor and has a pristine white suite. On the first floor, there’s a beautifully presented double bedroom with an ensuite shower room and also an attractive twin bedroom. Wooden chairs and a table in the courtyard allow you to toast to your holiday as the sun sets.
Ideally located close to the seashore, this cottage is within metres of all that this popular resort has to offer, including bars, restaurants and shops. Head to the harbour and glance at Damien Hirst’s sculpture, Verity, and after that, pop on your swimmers and head to either Tunnels Beach, Wildersmouth Beach or Rapparee Cove (all within 0.5 miles). It’s also a perfect base for exploring the nearby rugged coastal paths (0.5 miles) and the natural beauty of Exmoor National Park (11 miles).
