There are also tennis/ pickle ball courts, a playground, and a community pool.

Please Note: since the home is 1946 build, our home features a few historic architectural touches. There is a slightly lower-than-average ceiling in lower level and the header leading into the laundry room could be a head knocker — We’ve added a friendly 'Watch Your Noggin' sign as a reminder, but our taller guests should take an extra bit of care when heading in to start a load of laundry!"
How do I enter the House?
There are digital locks on the front door and kitchen side door. The door code will be sent to you the morning of your arrival.
Parking & Driveway
There is ample parking available on the main driveway and behind the house. Please note that this is our personal getaway, and we keep our van parked under the carport.
** Carport Parking: If you park under the carport, please be mindful of your vehicle doors to ensure plenty of space between your car and the van.
** Driveway Flow: Please do not attempt to pull through or circle behind the house. The curve is quite narrow and sharp; it’s best to use the designated parking areas and reverse out the way you came.
Are basic essentials provided?
Absolutely! We want you to spend your time relaxing, not running errands. We provide a starter supply of everyday essentials—including toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, coffee, laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. If you notice anything running low or missing during your stay, just give us a shout so we can get it restocked for you.
Are pets welcome? Dogs only!
We love furry companions, and Black Mountain is a famously dog-friendly town! Upon approval, your pup will love our fully fenced yard and the beautiful walking paths nearby.
To help us keep the home fresh for all guests, we kindly ask that pets stay off the furniture and beds. Additional cleaning fees will be incurred if there is evidence of pets on the furniture upon checkout. For their safety and the protection of our home, dogs must not be left unattended unless they are secured in a crate. For your convenience, we provide waste bags and ask that you please tidy up the yard after your pet. We truly appreciate your help in keeping our home a clean, pet-friendly space for everyone to enjoy!
What do I do with the trash?
Please place only bagged trash and loose recyclables in bins located on back side of house. Please keep the trash bin doors closed and locked with the provided carabiners. Black bears are prominent in the area and very crafty. The trash bin is on the left and the recycle bin on the right.
Is there laundry available?
You are more than welcome to use the Samsung all-in-one washer and dryer. To make things easy, we’ve placed basic operating instructions right next to the machine. Since these units can be a little different from standard machines, we recommend a quick peek at the guide before you start your first load! To make things even easier, the detergent compartment is pre-filled with Persil, so there’s no need to add your own.
Do you have a fire pit?
YES! Please check the local authorities to ensure there is no fire ban in place before starting a fire. Also, please do not leave an active fire unattended, or make sure that it is completely extinguished with water prior to leaving it unattended. The fire pit area also has party lights which are controlled by a remote that is on the side table near sliding glass door.
Hiking?
You can check out the website "AllTrails" to see all of the hiking options in the area. The Lookout Trail is nearby at the Montreat Conference Center, Catawba Falls River Trail is just a 20 minute drive away in Old Fort, and Linville Falls & Gorge is an hour.
Local Flavor?
And when you are ready to trade in the trails for a glass of something local, you will love the active brewery and winery scene. The area is home to several award-winning taprooms and wine bars, most featuring live music and dog-friendly patios just minutes from the bungalow.
We are local and are happy to suggest our favorite activities. Please feel free to reach out anytime!
Let me know if you have any questions about the bungalow or the area. We hope you enjoy your stay!!
