The Space:

House of Sunshine is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home themed on the 1960s and 1970s, with modern comforts throughout. The owner spent years gathering retro decor and making custom pieces, so every room has its own look. Outside are a hot tub, a cowboy tub, a gas fire pit, outdoor dining, hammocks and yard games, with desert mountains framing the night sky. It suits groups of friends of up to six. Claim the circle bed early; it goes fast.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The backyard has a six-person hot tub and an 8-foot cowboy tub, which is not an in-ground pool. An outdoor dining area with a gas BBQ, a gas fire pit and hammocks offer places to gather, and there are games like cornhole, giant Jenga and ring toss. At night the backyard is a front-row seat to the stars, with desert mountains all around.



-Living Area-

The living spaces are filled with retro decor and custom pieces, with a Samsung smart TV, a record player, a Bluetooth sound system, board games and books. A sunroom opens off the second bedroom. Please note that the fireplace is not operational.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The fully stocked kitchen has spices, olive oil, utensils and cookware, plus a drip coffee machine and French press, with coffee, sugar, creamer and a variety of tea provided. Outdoor dining tables and a gas BBQ are in the backyard.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Each of the three bedrooms has its own theme. The primary bedroom has a custom king circle bed, an ensuite bathroom and a desk. The second bedroom has a queen bed, a desk and direct access to the sunroom. The third bedroom has a double bed and its own walk-in closet. The second bathroom is in the hallway and has a bathtub.



-Surrounding Area-

Yucca Valley has art galleries, vintage shops and local restaurants, and Joshua Tree National Park brings rock formations, rugged mountains and Joshua trees. From House of Sunshine, Old Town Yucca Valley and La Copine and Giant Rock Meeting Room make good outings.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



Please note that cabinets in the hallway and the garage are locked and used for supplies.

Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at House of Sunshine is an 8-foot cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. It may be unavailable from November through April; please check with us before your stay if you plan to use it.



-Retro Decor-

Several pieces of retro decor are delicate, so please treat them with care.



-Trash and Recycling-

Trash day is Tuesday. The trash company will bring the cans out and back in.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Street parking is not allowed in this neighborhood. All guests and visitors must park in the driveway only. The city issues large citations to homeowners for any car parked on the street, even briefly, and guests will be responsible for any citations incurred during their stay.

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The hot tub is serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

Pets are not permitted at this property. Unauthorized pets will result in a $500 fee.

Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.
