The Savannah Hotel, Garki

What I really appreciated: * Your staff were exceptional. Everyone I interacted with was genuinely kind, professional and willing to help. * One staff member even accompanied me to a nearby shop when I needed toothpaste and paid for it because I didn’t have Nigerian cash with me. I returned the money the next day, but I truly appreciated this level of kindness. * The reception team were also very understanding. Since I had no local payment method upon arrival, they allowed me to settle the payment the following morning without any issues. * The breakfast met my expectations. It was simple but good, and considering the room price, I found it perfectly reasonable. * The gym was excellent. It was one of the best-equipped hotel gyms I have used. The equipment was modern, everything worked properly, and the treadmill was particularly good. The only small suggestion would be to replace some of the worn towels.

Suggestions for improvement: 1. Room photos The photographs on Booking create expectations that do not fully match the actual rooms. While I understand this is an affordable hotel, I believe the photos should represent the rooms more accurately. 2. Door and lock condition The entrance door was the first thing I noticed. The handle and lock looked as though they had recently been replaced but the installation was unfinished. The lock area appeared damaged and the handle felt unstable. Although the door worked, it did not create a good first impression. 3. Bathroom design and safety The shower arrangement is not very practical. Since there is only a fixed overhead shower and the glass partition does not fully close the shower area, water easily flows onto the bathroom floor. Adding a shower door or extending the glass partition would solve this problem and significantly improve safety, as guests could otherwise slip on the wet tiles. 4. Wardrobe The wardrobe was worn and did not close properly. Small maintenance like this would noticeably improve the room’s appearance. 5. Unpleasant smell There was an occasional unpleasant smell in the room. I’m not sure of its source—it may have been related to the courtyard outside—but it was noticeable during my stay. 6. Bathroom amenities For a four-star hotel, I expected at least hand soap to be provided. Shampoo was available, but there was no soap. A basic set of toiletries would improve the overall experience.
