The house is spacious, with high ceilings and a pleasant natural wooden smell inside. The air conditioning works very well, and the Wi-Fi connection was relatively good. The washing machine is conveniently located in a separate small building, which is much better than having it inside the living area. The property also has a large garden and generally feels spacious. The location can be convenient if you have a car or scooter and want a quiet base away from the busier areas.

There are several things future guests should be aware of. The beach shown in the listing was particularly confusing. We walked down there assuming we could use it, but two local women approached us, both carrying machetes, and told us that the beach was private and that we had to drive about 30 minutes to a public beach. If guests are not allowed to use the beach shown in the listing, this should be clearly stated by the host. Privacy is also an issue. There are basically no trees or bushes screening the house, so people passing in front can easily look directly inside. The neighbour behind the property also has a hammock facing the house, which made us feel quite exposed and observed. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable. They felt almost like balloons filled with air — as soon as you put your head on them, they puff up around it and your head tends to slide off. We found it very difficult to sleep comfortably on them. For a one-week stay, there were also no extra towels provided. The washing machine does not wash with hot water, and during rainy weather the towels and clothes take a very long time to dry. Our towels eventually developed an unpleasant smell because they simply could not dry properly. An additional set of towels would have helped considerably. The kitchen is quite limited. There is a microwave and an electric cooktop, but no oven. If you want to prepare frozen food, French fries or anything else that normally requires an oven, there is nowhere to cook it. The bathroom sliding door is difficult to operate and repeatedly got stuck during our stay. We were also surprised that guests are expected to wash the dishes before the next guests arrive. Another unusual point was that the accommodation had to be paid by bank transfer rather than having the transaction processed through Booking.com. There is currently construction on the property as another similar house is being built nearby, which is also worth knowing before booking.
