Parkview Guest House

Really great room for the price: small, compact but sensibly furnished to provide all you could reasonably need, including a small desk, clothes rail and a chest of drawers. The room was very clean and bright and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The small en suite toilet/shower was perfect and there is also a sink and mirror in the room. The overall building is also clean and pleasant. The kitchen facilities are excellent - every room has a large cupboard allocated and there is a fridge and freezer, two ovens with hobs and a range of kitchenware. If you are staying for am extended period it is wholly possible to stock up and cook your own meals and enjoy them in the large communal dining room. The property is about 10 mins walk to the main High Street and train station and there are also convenience shops and cafes literally one minute from the front door.

The property changed hands between my booking and my stay and hence the details around check-in and arrival were not as expected. However, it is all managed sensibly and the hosts are very communicative. Very clear instructions were given about how to access the property, my room and use the facilities.

The property is well organised for guests that are staying. The hosts were excellent with communication and requests made in advance, as well as in the lead up and during the stay. All instructions were clear and easy to follow.

The property is on a main road so light sleepers may need ear plugs due to traffic noise. This would be helpful to know in advance. Otherwise nothing else!

It offered excellent value for money compared to other properties. Although the weather was very hot, the staff were lovely. They provided a fan and moved me to a different room, which made me very happy. I really appreciate their help.

Security very good, kitchen good. Bed very comfortable. Facilities are good. Parking i used overnight parking at Hungry Horse which 5 to 10 minute walk. I also dined there as food and hospitality were good. Guest house is situated well for buses into & from town. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 days stay, only concerns were window and shower step. I wont hesitate to stay again.

My room with private bathroom was compact. Shower fine although the entrance step can be dangerous. Due to prevailing temperatures unable to open the window (Room7)lack of ventilation.
