I stayed for a month in July/August 2026. I lived in Tahoe for ~20 months total, and this was a short-term rental before moving out of state. My first impression was, cute house. When I pulled up into the driveway, the trash bin was overturned, which means a black bear visitor. I ended up seeing the bear walking through the yard and neighbors’ yards several times. As long as you’re respectful and give them space (very importantly, don’t leave any food containers that they can get into), it’s a really cool thing to be surrounded by bears. Other highlights: It was probably the most well stocked kitchen I’ve seen in an Airbnb. The board game theme was kitschy and cute. It was awesome having a washer + dryer available. Tons of fluffy white towels in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The kids’ room decor was adorable. My sister visited from the Bay Area, stayed in the queen bed upstairs and said she had a great night’s sleep. I stayed downstairs in the kids’ room to make it easier to come and go with my dog. Very quiet neighborhood. Friendly neighbors. A very peaceful place to stay.

The house has been updated to some extent, but still has some old structures. The plumbing and electricity were a little scary. Some outlets would spark if you plugged in your phone, which was concerning for the plug near the bed. The shower design is really dysfunctional once you’re there a couple days. You have to shimmy past the toilet to step in the shower and then for some reason, it’s not a watertight seal around the glass enclosure, so you have to mop up the water on the bathroom floor each time. If you bring pets, keep an eye out for coyotes — they are vicious predators and will track you on walks with your dog. I ran out the front door to yell at coyotes stalking the neighbors’ cat on their front porch. They roam the neighborhood, so be alert.
