The Silver Lake Hotel at Ocracoke

Location is A+. It's right in the heart of town and overlooks Silver Lake across the street. New room makeover design and style is A+. Bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've ever slept on. Free loaner beach towels, beach chairs, and cruiser bikes also place this hotel as a top tier option for an great Ocracoke island getaway.

The "didn't likes" are disappointing to report because we loved the hotel overall so much but as it is in the middle of a makeover transition, June of 2026, there is a lot of loud construction noise and activity throughout the day all around the property. We also had difficulty with some outlets not working. The hot water takes a very long time to get to the shower. It's probably a tankless system that needs some adjustment - once water got hot it ran fine with no issue. The other small gripe was the TV remote was so complicated we gave up on trying to use it. These minor complaints noted, we would stay here again without hesitation. The construction won't be an issue when the remodel is complete and we didn't come to Ocracoke to watch TV.
