We booked it primarily bc we are students and the location was relatively ok, we could walk to Nakakaruizawa sta.
Apparently, we were the only guests for 2 nights. Don’t have to say bad things about customer support it was alright. They helped us out with check in and aircon setup.
However, these were all good points about the place.
In the room there were 2 beds, TV and aircon. The biggest problem was everything else was outside the room and there was no effort to heat that area and lobby. The temperature in the mansion was colder than on the street. I had to wear jacket when I brushed teeth, went to the restroom, etc. Room was also insanely cold and it takes more than an hour to heat it properly.
The bathroom was the worst. It was relatively clean, but it was about 5 degrees. The water temperature was under 40 degrees, bath wasn’t filled with water. I was shaking and crying while taking a shower, it was insanely cold. Mind you we went in relatively warm weekends, 0 to 13 degrees. I honestly can’t imagine what is going on there in winter. I was trying to fill the bath, but the stones were too cold, so it cooled down in a second. Due to that I was not able to wash my hair and had to walk out with greasy hair for another day, I felt uncomfortable. Moreover, the towels were cheap and didn’t absorb any water.
Finally, the property is cleaned rarely, trash wasn’t changed in days, as well as toilet paper. It looks like it used to be a nice place, but now feels half abandoned.
I think the issue has to be addressed and heaters installed, or otherwise it would be unliveable until April.
Finally: don’t ever stay here in winter, in summer it might be usable.
