We were immediately drawn to this very stylish en-suite in Kusatsu. It's not really a "hotel" because they only have one room that's above a restaurant bar.
We arrived abit earlier and somehow the owner still spotted us and brought us to our room. He had a translation app and introduced us to the room and how to operate the heated floor/tv/fireplace.
The hotspring was great, but just remember to lower the curtains slightly! The view is exactly facing the Yubatake, even though we're only on the 1st floor, the noise was still minimal from outside.
The Aesop amenities was very luxurious, they even provide a travel kit as a souvenir.
The down side is that it was slightly pricey compared to other hotels around, since they don't provide meals. But all in all, I would visit again because of the unique and cosy envrionment of the room.

Spent a night here last year and loved it so much I had to come back! Amazing location and lovely design. Spent so much time in the onsen!
