The villa itself is genuinely beautiful — stunning in the sunshine and presented very cleanly on arrival. Each room had its own excellent air conditioning which was very much appreciated in the Puglia summer heat. The price for two weeks was reasonable and we could see the care that had gone into the property itself. Our host and his family were welcoming on arrival and responsive when we raised things.

Several things caught us out. The terrace listed turned out to be the host’s private roof terrace — guests cannot use it. No washing machine was available for a two week stay. Outdoor furniture wasn’t initially available and needed cleaning when it arrived. No sun loungers despite lovely outdoor space. Only one toilet roll was provided — the host later messaged to say two more were left as a “good will gesture.” We had already bought four for €1.50. Basic essentials worth checking before arrival. The villa is two miles from the harbour — an hour on foot in summer heat. UK guests should note taxis here are not like home — most are Bari based and charged from there, making them very expensive. A hire car is essential. Several outdoor cameras and a message at day three reminding us to switch off air conditioning made us feel monitored throughout our stay.

The property is stunning. It’s lovely to look at, private and very comfortable. The hosts were very attentive and really friendly. Having our car on-site was a bonus too.
