Asquith Hall Hotel & Spa Scarborough

Location & spa

Nothing

Tucked away in the countryside, not too far from Scarborough, this converted farm was quite a find. Surrounded by comfortably shabby gardens it was the kind of comfortable place that would be easy to wander around and sit outside. The staff were unremittingly friendly and professional. The room looked freshly decorated, was clean, very comfortable, and everything worked. Apart from the Wi-Fi.

The only real problem I had was dinner In their restaurant. The space looked top end, the staff almost silver service. I had a vegetable terrine, that was basically cheese. It was steak night, but I chose the fillet of beef. This turned out to be very, very rare, but chewy and grisly. It came with some sort of block of potato that had been cooked until it was rock solid. The seasonal vegetables where a couple of bits of carrot and some well overcooked Broccoli. Overall, it looked, and tasted, like I'd cooked it myself. It was also very expensive.

The setting was l9vely, the staff were very engaging and communication from them to us was exemplery, the hotel was clean and the grounds were well kept, the breakfast was delicous. Thank you very much.

Nothing.

Good location, very quiet with pleasant surroundings

The advert for hotel suggested easy parking for accessible rooms but it was quite a walk to the room for somone with limited abilities. In need of an upgrade, bathroom wet room there was mould in the corner and around tiling. Basic toiletries, just hand wash and lotion. Cobwebs in corner of room and quite cold.
