Quince Cottage

The ancient, picturesque cottage had been carefully and tastefully modernised and is on the lower slopes of a steep but charming lane leading to a dramatic view over the town. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with modern fridge/freeezer, washing machine,diswasher and induction hob and oven, plentiful pans, crockery and cutlery and even tea towels and cleaning equipment. The owners left a generous welcome pack including coffee, tea, butter, milk and eggs. The modern dining area has a pleasant view of the walled garden. The first floor bathroom with hand-held shower and W.C has a further WC next door. Spare towels were available for the beach. Pleasant sitting room and additional room with chairs and some books. The two beds we used were comfortable with duvets.

We liked everything about Quince Cottage but guests need to be aware the stairs are narrow, steep and winding. Also there is no dedicated parking but two public carparks (Cliffe and South Street) are within two minutes walk with a 2-hr limit during the day but free parking from 5pm to 9am. Within 2 minutes drive Phoenix Causeway carpark has all-day parking and also free parking from 5pm to 9am. It also has multiple electric charge points.

Charming and comfortable cottage with a lovely, well-planted garden. The location was perfect: very quiet but just a few minutes' walk from the town centre, riverside, nice pubs etc.

The cottage had lots of charm and was very cosy. It was sufficiently equipped for our short stay.

We advise that tall people should be mindful of the very low ceilings
