Everything was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully prepared, and the view was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy some peaceful time surrounded by nature. The family was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, which made the whole experience even more special. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in nature! 🌿
Everything was great.

This place was amazing! I stayed in a little outdoor cabin that was small, but extremely cozy. The bed was super comfy and the linens were clean and in great shape. There was even a bathroom and shower in the cabin. It had a full-length glass window that you could enjoy beautiful views from. The location is nice as well. Typically people stay in Chugchilán on night two of their Quilotoa Loop trek, which leaves a lot of hiking on the final day to get to the lake before the clouds move in and tour buses depart for the day. By staying here, however, you cut the final day of hiking down quite a bit, allowing for more time at the lake. Alternatively, if you're looking for a slower pace of trek and are okay with making it a 4-day trek, this small town is the natural choice for the penultimate night. The biggest reason I'd recommend this hotel is the family who runs it. I had actually booked another hotel/hostal in this village, but when I arrived no one was home and no one was answering the phone. The sun was beginning to set and I was without many options other than hiking back up to Quilotoa or all the way to Chugchilán in the dark. I saw this hotel available and booked in a panic, last minute, at around 5:30pm. The owner was at a fiesta they were having in the village, but she immediately left and came to meet me and walk me back to the property. She immediately made me tea and a snack, and asked what I wanted for dinner later. I ate dinner with her and her family, and they were so kind and sweet. Unfortunately they didn't speak any English (and my Spanish isn't very good), but with Google Translate we had a great meal and good conversation. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Sure, price wise this isn't budget accommodation, but for me it was worth every penny. Loved my stay here.
Pretty much everything was great. The dogs at the property and around the neighboring properties were a bit noisy and protective, but once the owners came to meet you and show the dogs that you're supposed to be there, they're actually very sweet and friendly. I also wish the owners spoke a little more English, but that was a very minor issue.

This is an amazing place to appreciate nature. The staff is very kind and the food is really good. The staff can take you hiking to see the amazing Quilotoa Lake, also there other beautiful landscapes you can see.
I don’t have much to say. I really enjoy my stay at the property

We really enjoyed our time at El Tiklan Glamping. Staying with a traditional family made the experience feel authentic and personal. One of the highlights was hiking up to Lake Quilotoa with a local guide from the accommodation. It was a much more meaningful experience than simply driving to town and walking the loop around the crater. The food was delicious—we chose to eat all our meals at the accommodation and were very happy we did. There is a small town about a 5‑minute walk away, but we preferred to relax and stay on the property. Our ensuite room was small, but the bed was incredibly comfortable. There is also a more private cabana available, which felt very romantic and perfect for couples. Getting there involves about 7 km of dirt road. We managed it easily in a 2WD SUV, but we’re used to driving on dirt roads, so it may not be ideal for everyone. There are no signposts, but the hosts send a detailed offline map with clear instructions, which made arrival straightforward. Not for everyone, but if you want to experience the real Ecuador, we would highly recommend staying here.
