Merzouga Amazing Camp

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to sleeping in the middle of the desert, but the night turned out to be much more comfortable than I’d thought. The tent was nicely set up, the bed was great for a good night’s sleep, and having a private bathroom was a real plus. We got to enjoy the feeling of being out in the desert without giving up the comforts we’re used to. I’d happily do it again.

What I loved most about the desert was how different everything felt once we arrived. The dunes looked beautiful as the light changed throughout the day, and even sitting outside doing nothing was enjoyable. We had considered just visiting for a few hours, but staying overnight turned out to be the better decision. It gave us time to slow down and enjoy the place properly, rather than simply passing through.

During our trip around Morocco, we decided to spend a night in the Sahara instead of staying in a regular hotel. Looking back, I’m really glad we did. The landscape was beautiful, and being out among the dunes, far from traffic and the noise of everyday life, gave the evening a completely different feeling. It was a lovely change from our usual travel routine and a memory we’ll take home with us.

We spent most of our holiday exploring towns, driving through different parts of Morocco, and stopping to see the sights. Staying overnight in the Sahara was a welcome change from all that travelling. For once, we didn’t have anywhere else to go or anything to plan. We could simply enjoy the view, spend time outside, and take in the peaceful surroundings. The tent was cosy and comfortable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It was a lovely change of pace and one of the highlights of our trip.
