Circa 60

Circa@60 is a cute little house that is super clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything you need during your stay. Whilst it is located on what seems to be one of the more major streets in Iluka and a little bit further back from the water, it's still relatively quiet and just a very quick drive or easy bike ride into the town centre. The outdoor bath and shower are a real treat and the pool table is abit of fun. The 2 bikes in the garage are an added bonus. It' s great that you can take your dog and that the yard is securely fenced. All 3 neighbouring properties also have dogs though and one in particular didn't seem very friendly so bear that in mind if taking a dog that is abit wary of other dogs.

The major drawback of this property is the layout. It's advertised as 4 bedrooms, with 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. However there is no internal staircase linking the 2 levels, you have to go outside and down the back stairs. Our kids (9 & 12yrs) were excited to have their own rooms when we booked but they were too scared to sleep downstairs alone closed off from us at night. As a result they ended up sharing a bed in the second upstairs bedroom which was less than ideal and it felt abit like we paid for half a house that we didn't use. This house would be better suited to a family with teens who want their own seperate space, a group of friends or 2 families with younger kids travelling together. Check out was 10am and as we were packing the last of our things into our car on the driveway at 10.10am, 2 cars (which we assumed were the owner and cleaner) pulled up and sat out the front for the next 10mins which was abit intimidating. We were doing our best to be out by check out time at 10am but with 2 kids and a dog in tow, we were 20mins late! Maybe a grace period of 30mins could be given by owners/cleaners in the future so that other guests don't feel as uncomfortable and pressured as we did!
