Welcome to Lazy Hiker, a cozy 3-bedroom mountain retreat just a 5-minute walk from charming downtown Hayesville, North Carolina. This comfortable home is the perfect base for exploring the mountains while still being close to local restaurants, breweries, and shops.

With space for up to 5 guests, Lazy Hiker is ideal for couples, small families, or friends looking for a relaxing mountain getaway but close to town for excellent dining experiences!

Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (30-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 40-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 20 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (11-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 38-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 46-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.
