About this apartment rental
Wake up on a working New England farm, sip your morning coffee to the sound of chickens roaming the fields, and spend your days exploring some of New Hampshire’s most iconic lakes, mountains, and small towns — all within a short drive. This charming three-level apartment is tucked into a stunning historic estate in Sanbornton, perfectly centered in the heart of the Lakes Region.
The apartment is full of character: rich knotty pine woodwork, soaring built-in bookshelves, a wood-burning fireplace, and the kind of warmth you only find in a home with real history.
The Space:
★ Level 1 — Living Room & Kitchenette ★
Step through your private entrance — secured with a keyless electronic lock — into a generous living room that immediately sets the tone. Rich wood paneling wraps the walls, original hardwood floors run underfoot, and a large sectional sofa and two classic wingback chairs invite you to settle in. The fireplace is the centerpiece: a handsome brick hearth with a wood-burning insert and an ornate original mantel, above which hangs a large oil painting that brings the whole space to life. Floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves line the opposite wall, stocked with books, board games, and puzzles. A large flat-screen TV is ready for movie nights — just sign into your favorite streaming apps.
The kitchenette is tucked neatly under the staircase and is well-equipped for breakfasts, snacks, and simple meals. You’ll find a drip coffee maker, a toaster oven/air fryer/convection oven combo, an induction hot plate, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, pots, pans, and silverware are all provided. The coffee bar is stocked with coffee, creamer, teas, and sugars, so your mornings start right.
Please note: This unit has a kitchenette, not a full kitchen. There is no full-size stove or oven. The faucet on the second-floor bathroom.
★ Level 2 — Primary Bedroom & Bathroom ★
Head upstairs to the second floor, where the primary bedroom awaits. Painted in a soft sage green with crisp white trim and crown molding, the room feels calm and airy. A king-size bed sits at the center, dressed with fresh linens. Large windows overlook the property grounds, and a ceiling fan and mini-split system keep the room comfortable year-round.
The bedroom features generous built-in storage: a large double closet, dresser, and additional shelving. A dedicated work-from-home desk station with a monitor and ergonomic chair is tucked in the corner — ideal for guests extending their stay or anyone staying connected remotely.
The full bathroom is just off the bedroom and is bright and clean with white tile, a tub/shower combo with glass doors, a vanity with mirror, and provided soaps, shampoo, and conditioner.
★ Level 3 — The Loft Suite: Four Queen Beds ★
The third floor is a generous, light-filled loft with cathedral ceilings and skylights, housing four queen-size beds across two distinct sleeping areas. It’s flexible, comfortable, and perfect for groups, families, or any gathering that needs real sleeping capacity.
At the top of the stairs, one queen bed sits tucked beneath sloped ceilings with a skylight overhead. On the other side of the room, three additional queen beds are arranged in a spacious shared area, also with skylights and warm track lighting. A mini-split unit keeps the loft comfortable year-round. Mountain views are visible from this level on clear days.
★ Outdoor Living & The Farm ★
This is what makes the property truly one-of-a-kind. Guests are warmly welcome to explore the farm grounds and visit the chickens — a highlight for kids and adults alike. The wide-open fields, classic white post-and-rail fencing, a historic New England barn, and a long tree-lined driveway create a setting that feels genuinely special. Guests will also find a small welcome gift waiting for them: fresh eggs from the farm's own chickens and local honey from the on-site beehives — a little taste of New England farm life to enjoy during your stay.
The outdoor dining set and grill are available for warm-weather use. Up to four vehicles can park on-site. The wood-burning fireplace is available for use by guests with prior experience; please reach out before arrival if you’d like to use it.
