About this house rental
We are renting out a fully equipped vacation home in a unique location, right on Eckernförde Bay.
The house, which accommodates 2 to 4 people, is located at Waldweg 33, 24369 Karlsminde, in the municipality of Waabs. Karlsminde is a working farm, now in its third generation of owners, employees, and guests. It’s a place “where time stands still.” A place “where it’s always just the present,” “without any frills—honest, simple, and warm.” That’s what our guests tell us.
Waldweg is a quiet road with no through traffic, right next to the forest with direct access to beautiful hiking trails around fields and lakes. The house is situated on the shore of a lake where you can swim, with a view of Eckernförde Bay and the Baltic Sea. The natural beach is beautiful and almost deserted, featuring small coves and a steep coastline. The house has three bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a workshop with a washing machine; it also features a carport, a private parking space, three terraces, and a boat dock with a bench.
Location: Karlsminde is located in northern Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the Baltic Sea between Eckernförde and Damp.
Distances: Eckernförde approx. 8 km, Schleswig approx. 35 km, Kappeln approx. 25 km
A wide range of activities available: Swimming, hiking, kiteboarding, fishing, bike tours, horseback riding (in Karlsminde), boat tours on the Baltic Sea and the Schlei, golf (in Altenhof (approx. 10 km), Güby (approx. 20 km)), museum visits, e.g., at Gottorf Castle.
For children, there are various summer activities such as playgrounds, soccer, the circus, a children’s center, horseback riding, etc.
For dog lovers, there’s a dog beach, a dog park, and a separate swimming lake, as well as plenty of walking trails.
In Karlsminde, you’ll find a small grocery store with a special selection of bakery items (also open on Sundays), as well as a snack bar and a lovely restaurant with a view of the sea (about a 10-minute walk), as well as a very unique adventure playground.
Other shopping options, such as the usual discount stores and many restaurants, can be found in nearby Eckernförde.
Amenities:
The house has gas and electric heating as well as an open fireplace. Firewood is included and is stored at our second house, Waldweg 34. Please collect firewood only during the day so as not to startle the tenants.

Living room area: Sofa and 2 armchairs with a panoramic window, TV, and stove. Dining area with a table and 4 chairs. Conservatory, a large covered terrace, and two natural terraces.

Games and books are available. Additional bicycles can be rented in Eckernförde. Bathroom with shower, hair dryer, etc. available.
