About this house rental
Bagnolo is a simple working village in the fertile Salento area of Puglia; benefiting from an artisan patisserie/ ice-cream parlour, three restaurants/ pizzerias, two simple bars, a butcher, two mini supermarkets and a pharmacy. It's well placed to explore the southern part of the Salento.
The quality and price of the food is very good wherever you go. During July and August concerts, religious, cultural and food festivals take place every evening across the region. In a two week period it would not be difficult to visit a different beach every day within a maximum of 30 minutes drive, the closest being the white beaches of Alimini, only 15 minutes away.
If you are looking for a relaxing time in an architecturally unique setting free from tourists then please consider my house for your holiday. I do my utmost to make your stay of the highest quality and actually take genuine pleasure in knowing that my guests discover this amazing place and it's people.

We, two adults and three kids, had a wonderful time at an authentic and well maintained house. If you are looking for a real South-Italian village (church, two coffee bars, everything for daily life in walking distance, nobody speaking English:)), if you still want to explore superb beaches (just 15 MIn by car) and the entire Apulia-region, this is the place to stay.
Alex is a very mindful and attentive host, easy to communicate with and most helpful. I highly recommend this place!!

We had a wonderful week with fabulous weather. The property was perfect, hidden behind a little piazza and within a short walk of all the amenities. It was a great base for the area and the local beaches and towns were fascinating with wonderful food. We would highly recommend both the area and the property. Alex was an excellent host checking in with us to make sure all was ok. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home.

What a pleasure it has been to not only stay at Martano House in Bagnolo del Salento but also to make the booking in the first place. Alex provided us with real hands on information about the house, village & surrounding area, as if he was walking around on holiday with us. We were fortunate enough that on the day we arrived that the village had a weekend of festivities….or perhaps that’s coz we had arrived!! It was an amazing sight, with music, lights, fireworks, singing & dancing. The house was perfect, more like staying in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental. The kitchen was a chef’s delight with proper utensils for proper Italian cooking, but of course there are also the local restaurants / pizzerias if slaving over a hot stove is too much like hard work. The work put in to renovate Martano House is stunning, from the vaulted ceilings, to the walk-in fireplace shower. A real treat to stay at and explore the wonderful Salento Puglia region of Italy. We will be back.
