About this cottage rental
The historic thatched-roof Friesenhus was built in 1870 and extensively renovated in 2025. During the renovation, the original character of the house was deliberately preserved and complemented with modern comforts. Its location right on the outer dike brings the typical, health-promoting North Sea climate directly into your everyday life. Your four-legged friends are also warmly welcome here.
The low ceilings with exposed beams and wood-paneled surfaces define the house’s special charm and create a cozy, sheltered atmosphere. Light, warm colors, floral wallpaper, and the tastefully selected furnishings underscore the playful, nostalgic style and make the Friesenhus a very personal retreat.
The first floor features a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, a bright kitchen with wood accents and a nautical design, and a living room with a cozy sitting area. In the kitchen, a dining set invites you to enjoy meals together, while the living area offers space for relaxing.
A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor. Here you’ll find the open-concept sleeping area with a double bed measuring 180 × 200 centimeters. Behind it is another, smaller bedroom with a French double bed measuring 120 × 200 centimeters. Both rooms feature white wood paneling and create a calm, airy living atmosphere.
In front of the house, you’ll find a lovingly landscaped garden with plenty of greenery and a secluded feel. The covered, furnished terrace invites you to relax, read, or simply take a deep breath. A lockable bike shed is also available.
Bedding and towels can be booked as an add-on upon request.
Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and check-out is from 1:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
