About this villa rental

THE GENERAL LOCATION:
The Los Nómadas luxury gated community offers seclusion, serenity, and security, right on the best stretch of famous Cosón beach, listed at the top of International Living's list of the top 10 beaches in the Caribbean (see excerpt below). Los Nómadas is a 10 minute drive away from Las Terrenas town, where you will find everything from a salsa dancing school to hair salons, shops, cafes, banks, etc. Las Terrenas has lots to offer in the way of restaurants and bars, including a wide array of fine dining like the 'Fisherman's Village' with a row of restaurants directly in front of the beach. Las Terrenas is always lively with the feel of a genuine Dominican town. If you need anything from town, like fresh fish from the daily fisherman's market, our motorcycle messenger can get it for you all for a few dollars. As a gated community set apart from local villages, Los Nomadas is safe and secure with 24-hour guards and video surveillance.

The villa is on the second-line of houses, so there's just one house between Casa Coco and the beach. A small pathway leads directly to the beach (about 50 meters).

A newly built airport (El Catey, code: AZS) is only 20 minutes from the house, offering direct flights from Charlotte (American Airlines) , as well as WestJet service from Canada. Or fly into Santo Domingo, 2 hours away on the new toll road. We can arrange airport transfers for you.

THE BEACH:
50 meters from Casa Coco lies idyllic Coson beach, awarded the 'Blue Flag Beach' designation by the Blue Flag nonprofit environmental group. This designation is given to only those beaches with exceptional water quality, environmental management, and safety and services. The beach has sections of perfectly calm water -- perfect for children -- and areas with small waves. Coson is exceptionally peaceful, with very little development apart from Nomadas and the small hotel next door. A long walk down the beach (or short car ride) takes you to a surfing haven with a famous local seafood restaurant and bar ('Luis') right on the sand of a near-deserted section of the beach.

Here's what International Living magazine wrote about Coson beach:
Perhaps the Caribbean’s best-kept secret, the once-sleepy fishing village of Las Terrenas is becoming one of the hottest spots for vacation homes in the Caribbean for those in-the-know. Some are even calling it the San Tropez of the Caribbean. The Dominican Republic boasts some of the best beaches in the world and Las Terrenas and the Samana Peninsula have the best of the best, including Coson Beach, or Playa Coson, a long, luscious stretch of untouched sand dotted with gently leaning palms. Besides beautiful beaches, Las Terrenas entertains with an eclectic mix of international restaurants and shops and outdoor pursuits from fishing and diving to hiking and whale watching.

THE VILLA:
Casa Coco is a large luxury villa, situated on a 17,500 square foot lot of lush tropical vegetation. With 5 spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, plus a separate bungalow with 4 beds on two levels and 1 bathroom, Casa Coco can accommodate a large group (16 people maximum), but feels private and cozy. It is exceptionally well located: 50 meters from the beach, in the safe and secluded Los Nómadas community. Casa Coco is in the 'second row', with just one house between the property and the beach. Casa Coco is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, giving a sense of privacy. The main house consists of three bedrooms downstairs, each with their own bathroom. Upstairs is a large master bedroom suite with a spa-like bathroom and a private balcony. Next to the master suite is a "kids suite" with four twin beds, a TV, and a full bathroom. All beds, other than the kids suite, are larger than King-sized, measuring 80' x 80'. All linens are high-quality, imported from Europe.

A large living room / dining room is connected to a semi-open large kitchen. A wrap-around cane roof veranda overlooks a lovely swimming pool with a shallow area for kids, a Jacuzzi, a large deck, and the tropical garden.

A separate Bungalow on the other side of the pool has a king bed downstairs as well as a mezzanine sleeping area – perfect for a family. The bungalow has its own bathroom and a mini-fridge and coffee maker.

AMENITIES AND SERVICES: The main house includes two TVs, a full kitchen, outdoor gas BBQ, WiFi, Smart TV. We also have toys and games for kids, guide books, etc.

There is a small luxury hotel 70 meters down the beach, where you can have a great meal (or take their free delivery) or a drink at the bar. For a fee (or if you order a meal) you can use their deck chairs, fitness center, pool, etc.

There are many excursions that can be arranged, including snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding (on the beach if you like), windsurfing, kite surfing, ecotours to rain forests, waterfalls, bird and whale watching. Tour operators will come to the villa to meet with you. Our full-time manager speaks five languages and is always available to help with anything you need, including arranging services, excursions, or transportation.

A car is recommended, but not required. We can arrange a rental car to be dropped off at the villa.

A babysitter, masseuse, or private chef can be arranged. Two housekeepers are at the villa every day. In addition to cleaning, they will cook you breakfast (you provide the food). Linens are changed twice a week. Our services can be customized to meet your needs. Most guests chose to use the chef service for at least part of their stay - please inquire for details.

We strive to provide you with a luxury, personalized experience. Prior to booking, we will discuss all details with you to ensure your experience is exactly as you would like it to be.

OPTIONAL CHEF SERVICE (Highly Recommended!)
If you would like a chef, our local manager can help you make arrangements with a local chef we recommend. You will pay the chef directly, and please note that we are just helping to put you in touch with the chef, we do not make a commission or a mark-up on this service. Most guests choose the chef service, and report later that they are very happy they did! Your chef will prepare mostly traditional Dominican meals, like fish or chicken with rice and beans, a salad starter, and a typical desert such as flan. This is just a typical example. Once you meet the chef, you can meal plan with him. If you'd like to arrange the chef for the day of your arrival, you should indicate ahead of time to Sabine what you would like on your first meal. I recommend the meal described above with fish. Also, please be sure to let us know of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

The rates as of February, 2026:
These prices are for the entire service (not per person):
For 1 - 8 people $50 for Lunch, $70 for dinner, or $120 for both lunch and dinner
For 9 - 16 people $70 for Lunch, $85 for dinner, or $120 for both lunch and dinner

These prices are just for the labor (not the ingredients) of the chef and his assistant. Their service includes meal planning with you, shopping for the ingredients (they will give you receipts, and you reimburse them for the cost of food), preparing and serving the meal, and cleaning up after.

Breakfast
-------------
Please note that our housekeepers will prepare and serve breakfast each morning (this is included in the rental price, and has nothing to do with the optional chef service), though you must provide the ingredients. However, if you order both lunch and dinner from the chef, then they will also do the shopping for your breakfast groceries (again, you will reimburse them for the cost of the groceries) as a courtesy since they will be shopping for the meals they prepare anyway.

Cannot recommend enough! The house was great- super neat set up, had everything we needed, quiet, and clean. A very short walk to the beach- in a great location. Lots of privacy for the pool and the ping pong table was a hit. Property manager was excellent when they greeted us upon arrival and very responsive when we had questions. The house keeper was lovely and made us the best breakfasts. Highly recommend hiring the chef they use- some of the best food we have had- it was excellent- wide variety of food at every meal and everything was delicious. He went above and beyond- it was better than going out to eat. We loved our stay and are already dreaming about going back.

We stayed in Casa CoCo for a wedding in February 2025. Casa Coco was wonderful! It is spacious, in a great location and has all the amenities we needed. It is truly paradise! Communication with the house manager, Francini, was fantastic. We had never been to the Dominican Republic before and had many questions about transportation, groceries and the area in general. Francini was quick to respond to my questions and took care of all of our needs. I highly recommend Casa Coco and would definitely stay there again. We were sad to leave paradise!

In general, Casa Coco was a beautifully designed space with spacious rooms that accommodated our family. There were a few issues that I would like to address. In the master bedroom’s bathroom, there was no toilet paper holder and the toilet room always had a very intense ,unpleasant odor. In the kitchen, the stove surfaces were very grungy, and we had a lot of difficulty turning on the oven. Lastly, the Jacuzzi never worked properly. Francini, our house manager, try to turn it on the day that we arrived, but was unsuccessful. She sent two technicians two days later, that did nothing to resolve the problem. This problem, I feel, can be resolved, so please address them. Sincerely, Maximo.

Villa was in a great location just steps from Playa Coson – the BEST beach! Villa was spacious – lots of space for a large group to lounge and have private time if needed. Breakfast and cleaning staff were excellent! Friendly and helpful. Our chef Joey was amazing cooking up some traditional Dominican dishes. Fresh fish and seafood was abundant and Joey incorporated this into most meals. Sabine was a text away and helpful. BUT…the villa is tired and needs a refresh on some basic but necessary items – appliances desperately need to be replaced (except fridge). Oven doesn’t work unless you light the propane with a napkin. You also have to stick a piece of napkin in the oven dial to ensure temperature stays steady (our chef had to show us this). Freezer is old and rusty, ice cube trays are all broken. Panini press is old and gave some pretty bad shocks to one of the guests who tried to use it. A replacement however was sent the next day when we notified Sabine. Coffee maker is also old and rusty and for a villa that accommodates 16 it’s very small. Should have at least two large coffee makers. BBQ is old, burners are inconsistent and only part of it works properly. The hot tub outside is lukewarm at best despite several attempts to ‘fix’ it, and the jets do not work. The shower in the bungalow barely gives out a trickle of water so those staying in there had to shower in another bathroom each time. Internet was hit and miss. Amenities in property description say that basic soaps, shampoo and paper towels were included, however none of these were provided. The property next door is under construction so be prepared to hear cement mixers and hammers banging until the afternoon. All in all, a pleasant stay but would recommend a villa refresh to fix the minor but annoying issues. NOTE – SAFETY ALERT: Floor in and around pool and entrance to villa is extremely slippery when wet – EXTREME caution is needed. Be very careful when using pool or hot tub then walking on floors. We had an incident the required medical attention from slipping on the floor and there was no safety kit available – recommend villa have one on hand.
