About this cottage rental
A delightful house in the heart of Southwold is just 150 metres from a gorgeous sandy beach, with all the many attractions of this charming seaside town on your doorstep. Sleeping ten guests across six bedrooms and three bathrooms, it is perfectly placed for families or a group of friends planning to explore the Suffolk coast and countryside in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The spacious three-storey house has attractive period details, enhanced by wooden floors and simple furnishings with a seaside air. The quaint village of Walberswick, is a short boat ride away, while the RSPB Minsmere nature reserve is 11.5 miles distant.
The bright, through living/dining room has two beautiful ornamental fireplaces and is full of light from the front bay window. Relax in here on comfortable sofas and enjoy communal meals at the large dining table. A pretty, white and wood kitchen has all the essential you need and a breakfast table. All six bedrooms have Victorian-style wrought-iron bedsteads. There are three on the first floor, comprising two doubles and a twin with another ornamental fireplace. The second floor houses a bright double bedroom and two single rooms. Outside, an enclosed paved courtyard to the rear has garden furniture.
Southwold’s famous land-locked lighthouse has regular open day when you can see inside the 31m high landmark. The sandy beach, lined with colourful beach huts, is perfect for a picnic, stock up on local produce from a range of excellent independent shops. A stroll along the historic Edwardian pier with its water clock and traditional amusement arcades is a must. Take the ferry across the river Blyth to pretty Walberswick, a popular spot for crabbing. Guests can enjoy free golf at Southwold Golf Club (1.5 miles), so be sure to pack your clubs.
