CASA MAUKE | Apartment in front Vatican

Upon arrival, our host, Matilde, was right on time to warmly welcome us and showed us in. She was exceptional even before, during, and after our stay. She kept communications open for whatever we need and was very fast to respond. She even gave us tips on where to shop, eat, and find transportation. The host also offered to arrange transportation for us from the FCO airport, which we were glad to have agreed to. It was hassle free for us, who flew in to Rome the first time, and the price was reasonable considering how much the taxis at the airport would charge. The apartment was clean and exceeded our expectations. We liked that the apartment had two rooms, each with an adjacent shower and toilet of their own, so there's no need to share the bathrooms. The common area was just right for four people to eat and have a good conversation. Each room also had their own TVs, so you could just lay around and take some time to rest after a day of touring the city. The apartment was also stocked with everything you need to make some coffee. The apartment location was also great. It was close to whatever you need, such as restaurants, fast food chains, market shops, and taxi stations. There was also a coffee shop just around the corner, on a street behind the apartment, that opens at 6am, so it was very convenient to grab a quick breakfast. If you like gelato, the Old Bridge Gelato was amazing and it was just a five minute walk from the apartment. This gelato place is so popular, that there were still a lot of people up to their 12 midnight close time. The apartment is also a five minute walk to St Peter's Square and about a ten minute walk to the Vatican Museums, so you could walk to and from St Peter's Square to take daytime and nighttime photos if you like. You could also see the dome of St Peter's Basilica from one of the bedroom windows. I would highly recommend this apartment and I would stay here again.

I didn't like that the building's elevator only had limited space and weight. The elevator could fit 5 people easily. However, if you'll have to bring luggages up, you'll have to make a couple of elevator trips to get everything to the apartment. Our host Matilde, was gracious enough to inform us of the weight capacity and helped us make the multiple trips to get our luggages up. This was not a big deal breaker for us, as we were able to use the elevator flawlessly after we've settled down. I also did not like that it was a bit difficult to open the front door. This door is usually left open, but it gets locked around 10pm. Tip: Ask your host on how to do this. I'm pretty sure that you'll be outside exploring the city even after 10pm =)

Wonderful apartment in an amazing location in Rome! Just a few minutes’ walk from the Vatican and close to all the main attractions. The apartment was exceptionally clean, well organized, and very cozy. It is clear that the host truly cares about the comfort of the guests. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is spotless, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, there is a lovely dining area, as well as a wine cabinet, which is another great extra in this wonderful apartment. A perfect place both for a short stay and for a longer holiday in Rome. We would gladly stay here again!

l'emplacement est absolument parfait, 5 Min à pied place Saint Pierre et entrée Musée du Vatican. Commerces et restaurants au pied de l'immeuble. Métro à 600m. Appartement et literie iréprochable, accueil personnalisé et de qualité par l''hôte qui a pris le temps de nous expliquer et nous conseiller quoi visiter, etc. Bref, très belle expérience, idéale pour 2 couples ou famille car un salon+cuisine sépare les 2 chambres.
