Star Gate Hostel

The host was wonderful, it really felt like a home. There were sofas and a lovely kitchen available for use. Oh and the shower! It was so hot it was amazing!

The only downside is the dorm bathroom is in one of the two bedrooms.

I’m a solo female traveller and stayed here for one night. I had a wonderful experience! The owners were incredibly kind and helpful — they even offered me tea and helped me arrange a tuk-tuk. The location is excellent, the cleanliness was exceptional, and the whole place was very quiet and peaceful. I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout my stay. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone. The breakfast was by far the best I had during my entire trip around Sri Lanka, absolutely delicious, fresh, and prepared with so much care. The hosts are incredibly kind and genuinely caring.

1. 공용화장실이 없는 건지 체크아웃한 다른방 투숙객들을 여기 방 화장실을 사용하도록 하네요. 누워서 쉬고 있는데 낯선 사람, 게다가 여성 도미토리인데 남자가 기웃거리며 들어와서 화장실 사용하는건 좀 많이 불편했음. 2. 여자직원이 있음에도 남자직원이 크게 중요하지 않은 일로 자주 방에 들어와요. 밤에 불 꺼준다던가 (전등은 우리도 끌 수 있습니다…) 화장실 휴지 가져다준다던가…. 직원이라지만 남자가 갑자기 들어오니 불편했음. 3. 또 그 남자직원이 이 방에 묵지도 않는 다른방 남녀 투숙객한테 이 방을 보여주네요. 도미토리 묵는 사람은 프라이버시도 없는 건지. 이 건에 대해 직접 불편하다 말했는데도 문제없다고 대답하셔서 할말잃음. 여자직원분은 내 말에 공감해줌. 내가 예민한건지 모르겠지만 다음날 도망치듯 체크아웃. 아무리 시설이 좋아도 피하고 싶어요….
