About this house rental
A 50-year-old farmhouse built by a farming family, situated right in the middle of a rice paddy
Enjoy BBQs in the garden and explore the surrounding abandoned farmland, which we’ve cleared and restored Enjoy the nature-rich satoyama landscape: spring brings rapeseed flowers, bamboo shoots, and wild mountain vegetables; summer features sunflower fields and blueberry patches; fall is for picking persimmons and chestnuts; and winter offers yuzu and more.
There are garden chairs in the neighboring bamboo grove, perfect for a leisurely coffee break while gazing out at the blueberry fields.
The popular “Fermentation Village Kōzaki” roadside station is about a 5-minute drive away, making shopping convenient. You can also enjoy strolling through the “Little Edo” streetscape of neighboring Sawara, a town that has flourished along the Onogawa River since the Edo period.
You can also use this location as a base for touring the “Three Shrines of the Eastern Provinces”—the historic Katori Jingu, Kashima Jingu, and Ikusu Shrine.
Amenities at Tsubaki House, an old private house salon in the village of fermentation Kouzaki, a farmhouse in the middle of rice paddies.
