About this cottage rental

Off-Grid Lakefront Cabin | North Frontenac, Ontario

Tucked away on a pristine lake in North Frontenac, this secluded off-grid cabin offers simplicity, comfort, and space to truly unplug. It’s the kind of place where days are measured by swims, paddles, naps on the porch, and campfires at dusk — the very best of Canadian summer.

The Setting: A rare property with 700 feet of private waterfront, nestled into the trees along classic Canadian Shield rock. 15 ft depth off the dock — perfect for swimming and diving. Clear, clean water. Very little boat traffic — a true paddler’s paradise. Quiet, peaceful, and completely immersed in nature. If you like quiet and the Canadian Shield, here it is. On the Water. Comes with a canoe, two “kicker” kayaks, large lily pad for floating and relaxing, and a hammock. Whether you want to paddle the shoreline at sunrise or drift in the sun all afternoon, everything you need is here. The Cabin. Sleeps 5 comfortably: Bedroom 1: Queen bed Bedroom 2: Single-over-double bunk bed. One bathroom (note: the shower is not hooked up — and with daily swims in the lake, it’s never been missed).
This is an off-grid property powered by solar. The fridge, lighting, and water pump all operate seamlessly. There is no hot running water, but water heats quickly on the propane stove for dishes and daily needs. Between lake swims and a pot of warm water, you’ll find you have everything required for a comfortable stay. The Best Part? The wrap-around screened-in porch. Large, breezy, and overlooking the point, it catches the wind and keeps the bugs out. It becomes the heart of the cottage: Outdoor dining. Afternoon naps. Board games and long conversations. There's a fire pit and a fireplace, a BBQ too. There’s a small nearby town for basic amenities (milk, bread, essentials).
If you’re looking for a day trip, both Perth and Almonte are about an hour away — two of the very best charming Ontario towns, with full services, great restaurants, and lovely main streets.
Driving distance: Just over 2 hours from Kingston Just under 2 hours from Ottawa. Approximately 3 hours 45 minutes from Toronto if you leave before or after high traffic.
Worth the trip.

If you love camping and cottaging, this spot offers the best of both worlds.
