About this house rental
Inside, we’ve tried to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house has everything you need to feel at home, take a break from the daily hustle and bustle, and fully enjoy your vacation. Here you can truly experience the tranquility of the countryside, while Amsterdam is just around the corner. This way, you get the best of both worlds: a relaxing stay with the city’s highlights within easy reach. It’s an ideal place to recharge with family or friends.
Abcoude is a charming and historic village that offers the best of both worlds. It’s located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, but feels like a completely different world with its tranquil rivers, green polders, and quintessentially Dutch landscape. One of the highlights is the Gein River, which flows through the area. It’s a beautiful place for walking or biking and was known as a source of inspiration for the painter Piet Mondrian. Nearby, you’ll also find Fort bij Abcoude, the oldest fort in the Defense Line of Amsterdam and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, nestled in the heart of nature.
The village center has a cozy, local atmosphere with charming outdoor cafes, shops, and spots like Anna Haen for lunch or De Witte Dame, located in a beautifully restored old train station. The location is ideal if you want to visit the city without the constant hustle and bustle. You can reach Amsterdam Central Station by train or car in about 20 minutes, while major venues like the Ziggo Dome or the Johan Cruijff ArenA are even closer, just 10 minutes away. It’s also the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area by bike. Abcoude and the surrounding Dutch countryside are perfect for cycling, with picturesque routes passing by old windmills.
