Vacation rental with a cozy atmosphere, 2 separate bedrooms, very quiet location on the outskirts of town, just 300 meters from the Kiel Canal, with a balcony, dogs allowed at no extra charge, ideal starting point for long walks, bike rides, or day trips to the coast and to Denmark
Welcome to your vacation home, “Ferienwohnung Frieda,” in Bornholt on the Kiel Canal. Bornholt is idyllically nestled among meadows and fields, right on the Kiel Canal, and offers excellent conditions for pure relaxation from the stresses of everyday life in a natural and very peaceful setting. Our “Frieda” is a vacation rental with a truly cozy atmosphere. With the Kiel Canal practically on your doorstep, the Frieda offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation in a total of 56 square meters of living space. There are two bedrooms in total (one with a double bed and one with a single bed), a bright and inviting living room, a bathroom with a shower, and a small but well-equipped kitchen. There’s also a southwest-facing balcony from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding nature (Please note: No direct view of the canal.) Dogs are welcome in our vacation apartments at no extra charge. There is high-speed fiber-optic Wi-Fi and a lockable bike shed with a power outlet.
Our vacation apartments are also the ideal starting point for day trips to the North Sea and Baltic Sea, to Denmark (about a 2-hour drive), or to major cities such as Hamburg, Kiel, and/or Lübeck.
Shopping options are readily available and easily accessible by car in Albersdorf and Hanerau-Hademarschen.
The area around Bornholt also offers easy access to a wide variety of attractions. Just a few kilometers away and easily reached by car, the Dithmarschen Stone Age Park in Albersdorf delights families and history buffs alike and invites visitors on an exciting journey back in time.
Hanerau-Hademarschen, also just a few minutes away by car, is known as the place where the poet Theodor Storm lived and worked; he wrote his novella “Der Schimmelreiter” here.
The next-largest towns, Heide and Itzehoe, with their charming shopping streets, offer the ideal setting for a leisurely stroll through town and/or extensive shopping trips. Heide is also known for having the largest undeveloped market square in Germany. A weekly market is held there every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
