About this farm stay rental
Cooks enjoy the well-appointed kitchen and complimentary maple syrup from the farm. The soaking tub, grotto-like shower, fire pit, music room, Peloton, broadband WiFi, organic vegetable garden, and 30 acres of fields, foliage, and streams await your friends and family.
This 5,000 square foot Vermont home was built starting in 1789 and is tastefully renovated throughout. The house features hand-hewn beams, wide plank flooring, a chef’s kitchen, and oft-photographed vistas of the Green Mountain National Forest — with all of Vermont’s charms at your doorstep.
Scampsville Farm sits on 30 acres of fields and woods for you to explore, with a stream meandering through the sugarbush that’s tapped each spring to make the maple syrup you’ll enjoy throughout your stay. In spring summer, and fall, guests may harvest fresh veggies from our large organic garden.
Maple Hill Road (featured on calendars and postcards) borders the property, offering a picturesque walk to the village of Belmont, where the renovated Belmont Store will be serving up espresso, maple creemees, and gourmet foods. A new 1/4-acre swimming pond with sandy beach has been dug and landscaped and is ready for summer guests.
Broadband wifi runs throughout the home, making remote work easy. Easily controlled heating throughout; quiet mini-split air conditioning in most of the bedrooms.
On the main floor you’ll find:
The living room with widescreen tv, new sectional sofa, and a glass-door wood stove from Norway (there’s wood for your use in the stove, or at the outdoor fire pit). Help yourselves to the generous collection of board games and the vintage table hockey set. (The whole house is well set-up for kids).
The 12-person dining room decorated with antique farmhouse chairs, a British campaign dining table, birch bark chandelier, and a stunning array of houseplants.
The abundantly furnished chef’s kitchen features a new Wolf induction range, Miele dishwasher, Samsung refrigerator, butcher block island, soapstone sink and countertops, and high-end cookware.
Coats, shoes and outdoor gear can disappear into the large tile-floored laundry room, with a half-bathroom and new Samsung washer and dryer for convenience.
The office and art-room offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful place to work and create.
If you’re a musician, help yourself to the band room, with its drum kit, guitars, keyboard, amps, mics, and disco ball.
At the back of the main floor you’ll find a Queen bedroom with a workout space, including a treadmill, Peloton, gym mat, yoga supplies, and leather punching bag. (There's a vintage Nintendo in there, too).
On the second floor:
The primary bedroom is vast and luxurious, with a king-sized bed, exposed beams, skylights, and a dormer full of windows. The en suite bathroom offers a soaking tub and radiant-heated tile floor, even in the large walk-in shower.
Two additional second-floor bedrooms offer queen beds, desk workspaces, and reading chairs. One features a record player and vintage vinyl collection. A shared bathroom is across the hall, with a glass-surround tub and shower.
The children’s room has two youth-size bunk beds (63” long), a stylish play kitchen, and a tasteful collection of wooden trains, blocks, and toys. There’s even an en suite bathroom with shower. (We can also furnish this room with a full mattress if desired).
On the third floor:
A recently added queen bedroom and large hangout space featuring a desk and couch offer a quiet getaway or a slumber party set-up, with the historic beams of the Greek Revival main house arcing above.
