Hardwood floors worn smooth by over a century of footsteps, ceilings that seem to breathe with the old city's spirit, and a front porch where rocking chairs face a quiet, tree-lined street - this 1892 Victorian cottage in Bywater is New Orleans at its most intimate. The neighborhood hums with creative energy, and the cottage holds its own character within it.
Living space
Inside, the original hardwood floors and soaring ceilings set the tone throughout. Period details give every room a sense of history without sacrificing comfort. Ceiling fans keep the air moving, and the dedicated work and study space makes this a practical base for remote workers and creative guests alike. A washer and dryer, iron, and full linen supply mean longer stays are well supported.
Sleeping arrangements
Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, sleep up to four guests comfortably. High ceilings and thoughtful touches throughout ensure a restful, unhurried stay.
Kitchen & dining
The full kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and eat well at home - refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, hot water kettle, coffee maker, cooking basics, dishes, and silverware. Pull up a chair at the dining table for shared meals, slow mornings, or a quiet cup of coffee before heading out into the city.
Outdoor living
Step outside and the cottage opens up further. A backyard and patio offer space to read, eat al fresco, or simply sit. The fire pit and BBQ grill - complete with barbecue utensils - make evenings outdoors worth lingering over, and the outdoor furniture and dining area give you a proper setting for it. The bayou-style front porch, fitted with classic rocking chairs, is its own world - a front-row seat to the rhythm of the Bywater street.
Bathroom & essentials
The bathroom includes a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, and hot water. Bed linens, towels, hangers, and all standard essentials are provided. The home is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.
