Meisdorf is located at the eastern foot of the Harz Mountains, in the eastern part of the Harz/Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park, at an elevation of about 200 m above sea level. The Selke River flows through the town, forming the Selke Valley in the Lower Harz and Mansfelder Land regions, which are part of the Harz Mountains. Southwest of Meisdorf, above the river, lie the ruins of Anhalt Castle, Falkenstein Castle, and the castle stables of Alter Falkenstein and Ackeburg. To the west of the town lies the Strulle spring.
In addition to the idyllic town of Meisdorf—which is well worth exploring with all its sights—you can set out from here to Ballenstedt (10 min), Thale (25 min), Quedlinburg (20 min), Wernigerode (45 min), the Brocken (1 hr 20 min), and other destinations.
