About this house rental
Set in the heart of Doonloughan, this beautiful coastal home is bright, airy and wonderfully designed for relaxed family living. It’s the kind of place where everyone can be together yet still enjoy their own space making it a fantastic property for the whole family to enjoy.
The house is laid out with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, creating a lovely sense of flow and light throughout the main living space. While open plan, the living room area remains cosy and comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach whether that’s curling up with a book, enjoying family movie nights or simply relaxing by the fire.
The main house includes three well-appointed bedrooms, ideal for family living. To the side of the house, a separate chalet provides the fourth bedroom and adds wonderful flexibility to the property. The chalet features a double bedroom, shower room, washing machine and dryer, and is ideal for older children, a nanny, or grandparents who may appreciate a little independence while still being close to the main house.
Step outside and you’re immediately immersed in one of Connemara’s most spectacular coastal settings. Four breathtaking beaches are accessible simply by walking out the gate, offering swimming, kayaking, bodyboarding, surfing, pier jumping and coastal adventures. Surf lessons run daily in the summer months, with the surf beach just a ten-minute walk away no driving required.
Walking enthusiasts are spoiled for choice, with trails starting directly from the gate. Enjoy the stunning headland walk, extend it to Mannin Headland, or take on the memorable 6km walk to Connemara Golf Links via the rugged Ermlaghen Road, finishing with lunch and a glass of wine overlooking the Atlantic. Golfers are well catered for too, with the course less than ten minutes away and a secure garage offering ample space for golf bags and bikes.
The large patio enjoys sunshine all day, making it the perfect place to gather in the evenings and watch spectacular sunsets over the ocean. Doonloughan is also free from artificial lighting, so nights are ideal for star gazing, with the soft glow of the nearby lighthouse adding to the atmosphere.
The house is just 6km from the village of Ballyconneely, where you’ll find a restaurant, pub, shop, off-licence, church, coffee shop and post office.
The bustling town of Clifden is only a 25-minute drive, offering supermarkets, excellent dining, boutiques, pharmacies and traditional pubs.
