I stayed at Hotel Shree Shyamraj with my friend for a short visit. The hotel's location is its biggest strength, as it is situated very close to both the Ujjain railway station and the Mahakaleshwar temple, making it highly convenient for transit travelers. Room and Amenities: We were allotted a room on the ground floor. The room itself was very small and lacked windows, though it was decently clean. It was equipped with basic amenities including one double bed, a small table, an air conditioner, and a television. The washroom was equally cramped. While there was running hot water, the shower function did not work for the hot water, which was a bit inconvenient. Staff and Service: The hotel staff members were exceptionally polite, kind, and well-behaved throughout our interactions with them. Transport Experience: We had a highly distressing experience with a cab we booked through the hotel for a round trip to Omkareshwar. During our visit, the driver consumed an intoxicating substance and became unfit to drive us back. We had to waste a significant amount of time stranded, coordinating with the hotel to arrange an alternate pickup. To make matters worse, that driver was rude and aggressively demanded the full balance amount despite not completing the entire return journey. While the hotel owner acknowledged the severe lapse, took responsibility, and apologized for the situation, the incident severely impacted our trip and left a bad taste. If you need a budget place just to crash due to its proximity to the temple and station, it serves the purpose.
