BELLEVILLE REQUIREMENTS FOR STAYS OF 30+ DAYS
To comply with the City of Belleville's long-term rental ordinance, all stays of 30 days or longer are subject to the following city requirements:
1. A City of Belleville Occupancy Permit must be obtained before move-in.
2. Guests must sign a long-term lease, including the required Crime-Free Housing Addendum.
3. Each adult occupant (18+) must complete a U.S. criminal background screening before the lease is executed and provide any information or documentation necessary to complete the screening. The screening fee is $49.99 per adult applicant and is the responsibility of the guest.
4. Guests must complete all required City of Belleville documentation before move-in.
NOTE: Failure to complete the required City of Belleville documentation does not entitle guests to a refund.
These requirements are imposed by the City of Belleville, not the host. If you have questions, please contact the City of Belleville Code Enforcement Division at (618) 233-6810.
Things to Note:
- Pets allowed ($60 fee per pet). Only 2 dogs max allowed. We do not allow cats.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the home.
- Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM to respect neighbors.
- A signed rental agreement and security deposit are required prior to check-in.
- Check-in starts at 4:00 PM, and checkout is at 10:00 AM.
- Enjoy complete comfort with indoor temperatures easily adjustable between 67 and 73 degrees.
- While we strive to provide everything you need, please note that extra sheets and supplies may not always be available during your visit. We provide an initial stock of supplies; guests are expected to supply the rest from there. Please note that we don't provide extra blankets.
- Occasionally, our handyman or lawn care workers may be present for maintenance. Rest assured, they will never enter your private space without permission or interfere with your stay unless there's an emergency.
- Booking discounts apply only to the initial booking and are not recalculated if you extend your stay afterward.

- Entry is through a secure digital lock. Entry codes will be provided 30 minutes prior to your check in time.
- Early check-in or late check-out may be available, depending on our cleaners' schedule. They charge a small fee, but feel free to ask, and we'll check availability. Keep in mind this service is not always guaranteed.

- Driveway parking is available for 2–3 cars. It’s a narrow driveway, so wider vehicles may have difficulty fitting. One or two street parking spots are also available, please be sure not to block other cars or driveways.
In order to receive the entry code for your stay:

- $300 refundable security deposit must be submitted. In some cases, the deposit will be automatically held on the card you used for your booking. In other cases, we may need to send you a link to place your security deposit.

We loved this home! The home is updated so beautifully with all the charm of the older home kept. The bedrooms are large and all beds and pillows extremely comfortable. The house felt very spacious for our family where we could be alone but also good space to all hang out. We also felt very safe in the home and neighborhood. I was able to communicate easily and fast with the host and he was always very helpful. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit our family.

We had a great stay at this home in Belleville. The location was quiet at the end of a dead-end street in an area of historic homes. Not far from shopping, etc. The house was old and full of character but also clean with updates and offered lots of space for our party of five. We particularly appreciated the large dining room where we gathered, the large and comfortable bedrooms, having two full bathrooms a plus, the full house a/c along with the window unit upstairs kept us cool, and the renovated upstairs bedroom(s) and bathroom all great. The driveway is definitely narrow but with some care it was doable and allowed our elderly parents to access through the back door that had fewer stairs and a railing. Also plenty of street parking and the area felt safe. We paid the extra fee to use the laundry and that was a plus for us. Everything in the listing was in the house, including iron and hair dryer. There are some aspects of the house that are still a work in progress. The kitchen has the bare essentials but enough to cook a meal. There is limited furniture in the bedrooms (no desk/table/dresser or otherwise to put a suitcase or unpack), the couch in the living room extremely uncomfortable, and the front porch an awesome space but just has one bench that wasn't very comfortable. The yard is large with big trees and tons of promise but not kept up for hanging out.We had a great trip and would stay here again.

This property is located in a quiet older neighborhood. The house has been updated nicely. Bedrooms were as expected and comfortable - extra blankets would have been nice as there was only a thin comforter on the beds. There is no dishwasher in the kitchen and several of the dishes had to be washed before we could use them because they were not washed properly. The 2nd bath is upstairs (this was not in the original listing) and there is a third king bed upstairs. Nice area but there is no air conditioning and it was stuffy up there. Furnishings in the living room were okay but not comfortable. The owner responded to texts in a timely manner but without action. I messaged him our first day that the unit did not have an iron, ironing board, or hairdryer he replied that he would contact the cleaning team and have the iron and ironing board delivered but insisted the hair dryer was there. We never found the hairdryer and never received the ironing items. We purchased our own. This was our first VRBO experience. As timeshare owners we enjoy staying in a home away from home when traveling. This trip we did not have access to a timeshare property and decided to give VRBO a try. We may try it again but will not go with an unrated property which this one was.
