Nice location; everything is walkable. The host was kind enough to allow me to check in a couple hours early, and overall his turnaround time for communication was great. Unfortunately the price does not reflect the quality of the apartment at all and although the host was very nice, either he has no knowledge of what he is renting or he is trying to get away with cutting corners. More on that in my "what I didn't like" section.

The host botched a few things and I don't trust his word as a result now. 1: The listing says that it comes with heating. Upon my arrival the apartment was freezing; I asked how to heat it and the owner said I had to purchase the gas to heat the apartment myself. I was taken aback -- if you're going to charge me extra for heating, don't list it as included. Or at the very least, an owner has to communicate that and explain that prior someone booking. 2: In the photos, the apartment's furniture looks just fine. Upon sitting on the couch however, I sank right through it -- the couch is ancient, has almost no cushioning left, and is mainly springs at this point. We couldn't sit on the couch during our stay there and opted to sit on the wooden kitchen chairs instead. When I told the owner, he acted surprised and said that something must have happened between the last renters and myself. There is no way that is true. I took off the nice looking blanket the owner had covered the couch with and it honestly looks like it was picked up off the street. It is stained, torn, extremely old, and without proper cushioning. I sent him pics of the couch to enlighten him. 3: The oven wasn't working properly. If you're familiar with gas ovens, you know when most of the small individual holes of the burners don't work, flicker, and go out intermittently? Well that was the case with the oven. Most of them would stay lit on the lowest setting but if I raised the temperature even a hair, all but 4 would flicker and go out. So that was extremely annoying. At least he had a small electric oven as a back-up. 4: The owner assured me there was plenty of gas for hot water, which was not true. We had cold water on the third day and had only taken one shower each on our first day.
