Tetebatu Hill

We absolutely loved our stay here! The family that run it are lovely and so helpful. They told us lots of great places nearby to see and brought us some delicious local snacks when we arrived. The room is comfortable and spacious and the whole area is really beautiful. We had dinner there on our first night and it was really good and it is only a short walk to loads of other restaurants in the village. The banana pancakes in the morning are also great! We got the airport pick up which was a very reasonable rate as was the bike rental. We loved our stay here it was very relaxed vibes and very beautiful, I would definitely recommend!

The host was very welcoming, you can arrange for basiv food to be made for a decent cost. If you are doing mount ijen climb a one night stay would suffice.

The location can be quite remote with no nearby restaurants. There is a nice cafe, but thats about it. I personally did not find the mattress comfortable as they were like very soft memory foam and no support.

I had a wonderful stay here and honestly didn’t want to leave. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. There’s no AC, but you don’t really need it and I didn't even use the fan as Tetebatu is on the hills so the temperature was perfect, and I actually ended up asking for an extra blanket because it got a little chilly at night. What truly makes this homestay special, though, isn’t the room. It’s the host family. Their kindness and generosity genuinely touched me. They kept bringing me tea, coffee, and fresh fruit throughout my stay and only charged me for the main meals I ordered. Every gesture felt so sincere, and they made me feel like part of their family rather than just another guest. And another thing I really appreciated was that the host never pressured me into booking tours or activities with him. He simply answered my questions and let me decide what I wanted to do in my own time, which I found really refreshing. I eventually booked a Tetebatu village tour with his brother, which included the rice terraces, monkey forest, and waterfalls, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my stay and perhaps the whole of Lombok. It didn’t feel like a typical tour. We stopped to buy local fruit, visited Tetebatu town, and he even taught me how to ride a scooter! 😅 And throughout the day it just felt like I was exploring with a friend rather than a guide. Thank you Saha for trusting me with your scooter and also the long ride back to Bangsal with my two backpacks. It was definitely one to remember! :D They also have a small warung where they serve affordable home-cooked food, which was really convenient when I didn't want to go out for food. I also did my laundry there twice and everything was done nicely and handed back to me the next day. I ended up extending my stay because I simply wasn’t ready to leave. Thank you to the whole family for making my time in Tetebatu so memorable.

I loved everything about this place

Had an amazing stay at Tetebatu Hill! Honestly, the value for money here is unbeatable. The room was super spacious and clean, and the bathroom had everything we needed. No AC, but you really don't need it—the weather was perfect the whole time, though there is a fan if you get warm (we did not use it!) The location is peaceful and quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. The family running the place is incredibly welcoming and helpful. We had some great chats with them, and they sorted out a scooter and our transfers for a really fair price. The free breakfast was simple but delicious (coffee, banana pancake, and fresh fruit), and we ended up eating dinner here three times because the food was so good and cheap. Highly recommend this homestay if you're visiting Tetebatu!
