The older building is in a quiet street that felt safe, though quite a walk from the train station. Despite an odd entrance via a long corridor, the actual accommodation space (the ante-room and the rooms) is very tidy and elegant. I was surprised by the spacious room with a nice design, well-equipped, with a super-clean and well-functioning bathroom (even hot water was reliable), and perhaps thanks to having no windows into the street (except the miniature inner courtyard) also pleasantly cool in the hot summer (I did not have to use AC). Thanks to the size of the room it was breathable and I had a good sleep. I had a little drama with a broken key, but after some communication (in Italian, using the translator) with the accommodation contact person (who was out of town), they found a way to address it and let me in.

I would work on just a few communication things: - Having clear and detailed access instruction in English (in one message) prepared - and sending them well in advance. To avoid having to ask questions, getting them answered in colloquial Italian (really hard and unclear to translate with translator). I was asked for my documents, but in Italian and it was also hard to decipher what was requested. Having this all prepared would save both sides some hassle. :) Not sure why switching between booking.com chat and WA chat is needed. - Better marking of the keys (which one is for what) and the accommodation access. I had to walk all the floors of the building with my luggage, before I discovered it is actually the unmarked ground floor door at the end of the long corridor, just opposite of the entrance door. - The dark corridor (without knowing where the lights are) can be a bit intimidating in the night, that's how my keys got broken. With this addressed the communication part would match well with the comfort of the accommodation.
