Pension Haus Donaublick

The room.

As an international student, I came here for a 5-day course and stayed at this place. Overall, the accommodation was affordable, the location was good, and the service was satisfactory. My overall experience with the stay was positive. However, if you don’t speak German, I would strongly advise you to be cautious when using the local bus service. The last bus from the city centre to this place leaves at 5:20 PM. Unfortunately, the driver of this bus treated me and my friend very poorly throughout our 5-day stay. We repeatedly experienced what we felt was racist and discriminatory behaviour. He called us “Katastrophe,” mocked our nationality, laughed at us along with other passengers, and even refused to open the bus doors to let us board. This was a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience, especially in a foreign country where we depended on public transport to get around. While the accommodation itself was good, this experience with the local bus service seriously affected our stay. I hope the responsible authorities take such behaviour seriously and ensure that international visitors are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their nationality or language skills. My recommendation: The accommodation is affordable and offers good service, but please be aware of the difficulties you may face when using the local bus if you don’t speak German.
