Apartment Kompakt Gottschalk 5,0

We stayed here with my boyfriend from June 14 to June 17, 2026. We arrived in Kassel by train and took the tram from the main station to the apartment. The tram stop is only a few minutes’ walk away, which was very convenient. We were attending a conference at the University of Kassel, so the location was perfect for us, literally just one block from the university. We arrived on a Sunday around 5 pm and were pleasantly surprised to find several cafés and restaurants open right below the apartment, making it easy to have dinner or grab a drink after our trip. Check-in was very easy. The host sent us clear instructions by text message with all the necessary steps. The instructions were in German, but translating them was straightforward. The key is stored in a lockbox with a code next to the entrance door, so accessing the apartment was simple and convenient. The apartment was impeccably clean, which we really appreciated. Everything looked and felt spotless: the bed linen, towels, bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator and floors. It was one of those places where you immediately feel comfortable using everything because you can tell it is very well maintained. The apartment has everything you need and is clearly designed with travellers in mind. There is a wardrobe with enough space for clothes and luggage, hooks for coats, toilet paper, hand soap, and toiletries for the shower. There were also tea bags, a few coffee capsules, paper napkins, and a capsule coffee machine, although we did not use it. There are even basics such as salt and pepper, which are exactly the kind of things travellers usually don’t have. It also has a TV with many channels and streaming platforms, as well as plenty of power outlets and extension cords for charging devices. Another thing we really appreciated was the bathroom. The shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water, making it very comfortable to use.

The only downside for us was that there was neither a microwave nor an electric kettle, which are quite basic appliances that would make the stay even more comfortable. To make tea, we had to heat water in a small pot, and to prepare coffee with milk we had to heat the milk on the stove as well, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, we had a very comfortable stay and would gladly stay here again if we return to Kassel.
