Sol & Luna

Firstly, we chose this homestay because we only really needed a place to stay in between our flights. A quiet place to rest after we arrived in Sri Lanka very late at night to sleep a few hours before we had to return to the same airport for our flight to the Maldives. What we got was so much more. Our hosts, included kind and very attentive members of a family where everyone helped out. We were picked up at the airport promptly and were served a lovely cold avacado smoothy as we recovered from our long flight. Cold fragrant facecloths were also provided while we checked in and shared our plans for the following day. The owners assured us that we would be given transportation back to the airport, and this was no small commitment as we needed to leave by 4am. We requested a breakfast and after a short but very pleasant sleep in a lovely appointed, clean and comfortable room, we were served a very good breakfast for standard and vegetarian diets. Both English and Sri Lankan dishes were offered. Our room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything we could need. After packing up we were warmly wished happy travels and returns. We would highly recommend Sol & Luna, a genuinely kind and hospitable family run homestay, and an excellent option close to the airport but far enough away for a quiet and very comfortable sleep.

We had such a lovely stay here! Everything is new, including the house itself. The bed is really big with high quality linen and pillows. The towels are thick and soft. The shower is huge and has three options for where the water comes out including a rain shower head. Long hot showers are possible. The AC works great and there's also a fan with remote control.  We enjoyed a really delicious and generously-portioned lunch and breakfast in our room which they bring and set up for you. We also appreciated the wardrobe with integrated locks+keys for our valuables. The family that runs it, together with an English speaking manager, is so pleasant and lovely, providing warmth, professionalism and a commitment to quality and service. The neighborhood is very calm and pleasant and the airport is a short drive away. It's even nicer than in the pictures, for example there's a lot of natural light. It's great value for the price. We can highly recommend it!
