About this house rental

Tucked into a very quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the beach, this home truly is a retreat that also happens to be convenient to Cannon Beach's cute midtown. You'll find lots of great stops nearby and walkable, including a couple of pubs, restaurants and art galleries, as well as the town's lovely History Center…and Haystack Rock is a mere five-minute walk from your front door.

This large cozy house hearkens back to the days when homes were built around warm fireplaces out of necessity, yet it holds every modern convenience you'll need to settle in for a long, comfortable getaway. Walking through the front door, you'll notice that the main downstairs rooms are all connected around the large, central fireplace, which immediately instills the feeling of gathering together for a cozy evening of conversation.

Just to the right, the entryway opens into a comfy living area where you can enjoy the benefits of the wood-burning fireplace from a sofa and love seat, and also gather around one of those coffee tables just perfect for playing board games until the wee hours of the night. Just off of this room, you'll find a small bonus room that has a desk and bookcases, but also a day bed where you could tuck one of the kiddos in for the evening.

Continuing around the downstairs, you'll find another big living area with a large sectional couch and television, making it a great spot to catch up on highlights from the day's games or watch your favorite movie…Goonies, anyone? To the right of the television, a hallway continues past a bookshelf packed with board games back toward the main entry where there is also a bright and cheerful half-bathroom.

Off of the second living area, you'll find yourself in the home's dining room, which has a table and chairs for up to eight people and a sliding door leading to the very large backyard. With a large grassy area where the kids can cut loose and play disc golf, a grill for cooking up that salmon you got from the local fish market and a fire pit with seating for six; you may find yourselves eating 'out' more than in. The yard also offers the ideal chance for more outdoor time for the kiddos on the rare occasion when the beach feels too crowded or they just need to let off a bit more steam right before bedtime.

Back through the dining room is the home's kitchen, which is big enough for a couple of chefs to prep a great brunch or dinner for a large crew. There's a small bar that seats three additional people adjacent to the dining room, lots of counter space, a large fridge, electric range, coffee station, kettle, toaster oven and many more conveniences to make meal prep a snap during your getaway. Behind the kitchen, you'll find the home's large utility room where a full-sized washer and dryer means you can pack a little lighter and plan for a mid-trip round of laundry or wash away any muddy hiking incidents or sandy beach britches.

Up the stairs, the first room you'll discover is a delightfully decorated kid's room with two bunk-beds and a closet where you can tuck away all their treasures. The four kiddos that sleep in here will be delighted to be in the company of pirates, puffins, mermaids and treasure as they drift off to dream about the day's beach adventures. Next to this delightful room, you'll find another good-sized bedroom with a queen-sized bed and plenty of closet space. Adjacent to these two bedrooms is a big bathroom with a large vanity and a tub where the kids can soak away the day's fun before heading off to their bunk-bed dreams.

Off the opposite corner of the landing from those rooms, you'll find the very spacious primary suite. Featuring a king-sized bed, its own gas fireplace, a large walk-in closet, a bathroom with a step-in shower and a large window seat perfect for some stolen moments with a great book, this suite is an adult retreat in and of itself.

Just steps away from restaurants, galleries and the beach, but also off the beaten path; this home is the perfect way to experience everything Cannon Beach has to offer (even during the busy season!) while also being able to escape to your own quiet solitude with your family at the end of the day.

You are welcome to bring your dog buddy with you! Please know there's a $60 plus tax fee per dog per stay.
