These beautifully appointed rooms (firstly, Kauri Cabin) include a double bedroom, full kitchen and living area, separate laundry and spacious deck area.
The other (The Pole Room) has a microwave and fridge for basic amenities, including tea, coffee and toast making. Both rooms have outside seating and one (Kauri Cabin) has a portable barbecue.
The local Okitu Store - 5 mins walk away - has the best ice creams and stocks almost anything you need.
The Cantina is a local bar and is 5 mins drive away and offers a relaxing setting with cafe style food and a good local vibe.
Ten minutes drive away you can enjoy a visit to Tatapouri where you can have a unique experience feeding stingrays in their natural environment.
If you want some panoramic views over Gisborne, walk or drive up Kaiti Hill . Around a 10-minute drive towards the city centre.
Approximately an hour drive away is an absolutely unique experience, walking around the many tracks at Eastwoodhill – The National Arboretum. Well worth a visit if time allows. Highly recommended.
And if you're after some excellent food in both the formal dining area and the casual bar at The Bushmere Arms Hotel. If you meet Robin, ask whether you may walk through his gorgeous formal garden—if he agrees, you’re in for a treat.
