Two good, local country pubs in Middleton by Wirksworth are within a few minutes walk from the cottage, whilst local shops and more places to eat can be found nearby in Wirksworth, The Gem of the Peak. Heritage abounds with the Arkwright Mill World Heritage Site in Cromford, quirky and historic Wirksworth with its steam railway, Crich Tramway museum and other attractions - all within a few miles.
