Heading either east or west, you will find a string of lovely coastal villages with a range of habitats including wide sandy beaches, salt marshes and quays, all offering great boutique places in which to eat and drink. To the east lies Holkham beach, bracing in winter and glorious in summer, as well as Wells-next-the-Sea with its narrow gauge railway running down to the beach, adorned with painted beach huts. Here you will also find a much-photographed quay, seaside attractions and lots of quaint, artisan places in which to eat and shop. Venturing a little further, you can try the Norfolk pursuit of crabbing on beautiful Blakeney Quay, or even take a boat trip out to see the seals (seasonal). Head west and experience all the fun of the fair at Hunstanton with its Sea Life Centre, amusements and small fairground. History buffs will be sure to love Sandringham Estate, Holkham Hall, Blickling Hall and the Hanseatic Old Quarter of King’s Lynn. And with wildlife viewing opportunities and great walks and cycle routes galore, you are sure to book a return visit to this lovely cottage just to fit everything in. After a great day of sightseeing, why not relax by one of the multi-fuel burners or raise a glass to a great day out in the pretty garden. Now, that is a treat! Beach 1 mile.
