    We were shocked by how foul the room smelled and it looked completely different from the pictures. The bedsheet, pillows and blanket were completely unfit for use. The room walls were all damp and there was no room freshener. It wasn’t possible for us to change the prebooked room on time and it was such a pain to breathe there.

    Hotel Jai Palace falls short on basic hospitality standards, making for a below-average experience that heavily relies on guest intervention for fundamental room services. ​The Good ​Functional Basics: The Wi-Fi works reliably, and having an accessible water filter to refill bottles is a convenient touch. ​The Bad ​Misleading Parking Claims: Despite listing on-site parking, guests are directed to the Pachmarhi Cantonment public parking area, incurring an extra charge of ₹50 per 24 hours. ​Property Condition & Cleanliness: Rooms look noticeably different from the online promotional photos and require urgent maintenance. Hygiene is a concern, highlighted by gutkha stains on the staircase. ​Basic Amenities Missing on Arrival: Essential items like towels and toiletries are not kept ready in the rooms and are provided only upon explicit request. ​Technical Issues & Missing Meals: TV setup is non-functional initially (a working remote had to be requested separately). ​Verdict: While functional Wi-Fi and drinking water are small positives, the poor maintenance, lack of room preparation, and misleading listing details make it difficult to recommend Hotel Jai Palace unless strict improvements are made in housekeeping and transparency.
