Marea Villas Heated Pool

A superb villa in an excellent location, impeccably clean and well-maintained. The spacious outdoor area features a lovely swimming pool with stunning sea views.

To be a bit picky, one of the bathrooms was on the smaller side, and the nearby main road is quite busy with few safe spots to cross.

New villas not far from Lake Kournas and a few quiet beach clubs (driving distance). Great location if you want to enjoy beaches that are not overpriced or overcrowded. Perfect for a family of four, for a family of five it is a bit small but doable. Pool was inviting and the outdoor dining and lounging area were our favorite spot. The team was welcoming and responsive with issues. Due to proximity to Chania and the airport, it was the perfect location to spend a few days upon arrival before exploring other parts of the island.

Our air conditioning was not working properly. It wasn’t bad since it had not gotten too hot outside yet. Maintenance was sent to fix it, but was not able to resolve the issue while we were there, but continued to solve it after we left. Pool could use a handlebar for the entry as the steps are slippery. If you are familiar with Crete you know about the plumbing - this villa isn’t an exception and you must place your toilet paper in the bin and not flush it. The only other thing to be aware of is the proximity to the main road. The noise from the main road was constant, both day and night. Overall we would stay again for a brief stop after flying in due to the location near the airport before heading off to explore other parts of the island.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa in Crete and would happily return. The villa itself was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The pool was fantastic, and the views were absolutely stunning – it was the perfect place to unwind. A special mention has to go to Maria, who was exceptional throughout our stay. She was warm, friendly and incredibly responsive whenever we contacted her. Nothing was too much trouble, and her excellent communication really enhanced our experience.

The only negative was something that was unfortunately beyond Maria's control. On two consecutive days, the neighbouring villa (which we understand is managed by the same company) hosted very loud parties with a professional DJ. The music started during the afternoon and continued late into the night, making it feel more like Ibiza than the peaceful holiday we were expecting. After the first evening, Maria explained it was a birthday celebration, so we accepted it as a one-off. However, when it happened again the following day, I contacted her once more and even sent a video of the noise. Maria responded immediately and took the matter seriously. Whatever action she took significantly reduced the volume, for which we were very grateful. I mention this only because the booking terms clearly state that parties, including hen and stag parties, are not permitted. Hopefully this policy can be enforced consistently in the future, as it would help preserve the peaceful atmosphere that makes this villa so special. Despite this two-day disruption, it did not overshadow what was otherwise a fantastic holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book this villa again. Thank you to Maria for looking after us so well.

The accommodation was a very pleasant surprise. Everything was new and well-organized. The pool water was fine for late April, and the kids had a great time. The housekeeping service was prompt, and Maria, who welcomed us, was incredibly helpful and responded quickly to all our questions. A car is recommended to get to the location, but the villas are well-positioned for beautiful beaches or mountain excursions. And the view is gorgeous. I confidently recommend this place if they maintain their services at these standards.
