Lakefront Villa Elena by GardaDoma

The villa has a truly charming atmosphere and offers an authentic Italian lakeside experience. The location is excellent, directly on the waterfront, separated from the lake only by a pedestrian promenade. The property was clean, spacious and generally well equipped. We especially enjoyed the beautiful views, the proximity to the lake, and the overall character of the villa. The stay felt relaxing and unique, and overall we would gladly choose this accommodation again.

A few practical details may be worth mentioning for future guests. There is no air conditioning, which is common in the area, but during warmer periods it can still be missed. Fans are provided in the bedrooms, although they mainly circulate the warm air. There is also no Wi-Fi. This is correctly stated in the listing, but it may be overlooked while comparing many accommodation options, and nowadays many travellers naturally expect internet access. Parking is available for two vehicles, however one of the parking spaces requires confident manoeuvring skills. The windows are fitted with single glazing and can be affected by strong winds, so some care is needed when leaving them open. The balcony awning could not be operated electrically during our stay, and the manual operating rod was not available, making it somewhat difficult to extend or retract, especially when the wind picked up. Finally, future guests should be aware that the constant sound of the lake is very noticeable, particularly when sleeping with open windows. We personally found it atmospheric and relaxing, but those who are sensitive to continuous background noise may wish to take this into consideration. The host was polite and helpful throughout our stay, although guests expecting the typically warm and expressive Italian style of hospitality may find the interaction somewhat more reserved.
