Out of the many homestays that receive foreigners in China I stayed, this establishment really impressed me in its super convenient location, quiet, cozy environment, private, comfortable bedrooms, and naturally facilitated, spontaneously evolved social engagements between tenants in the living room - with lots of recreational amenities as "club goods" - that avoid embarassments and awkward feelings, especially so for the many sensitive and shy younger gen Chinese people who grew up in high context societies in their hometowns run by traditional closely-knit communities and acquaintance economies. The entire homestay is also well furnished, equipped, organized, and clean, and overlapping kitchen/laundry use times are rare as there are only two groups of tenants at max. Joe, the homestay operator, is a knowledgeable and personable host with a remarkable command of the English language who excels at cultural exchange, people-to-people diplomacy, and knows his boundaries. His professionalism definitely made my experience a lot more enriching and smoother.

The bedrooms could use some nightstands and additional accessories for young tenants or disabled patients, such as phone/tablet holders for on-bed, “lay flat” business/recreational experiences.

A cute, niche, museum-like homestay, which is by itself really an iconic landmark worthy of its symboIism that represents Pudong's evergoing developments and the average people that build their Pudong dreams a reality.

Foreigner registration at homestays like here can take some time during check in, but it is understandable. Joe the homestay operator is very helpful in making this process as fast as possible.
